Why do people pronounce "Ghirardelli" with a soft G?

There is no way that is possible. There is an H. It is not window-dressing. The function of the H is to make the G hard. Italian is wholly consistent in its phonetics.

Maybe you should just stick to Hershey's.

Life is way too short to be angry over this. Eat a chocolate and be happy.

I know the blog is called "I Hate Everything" and the author's nom-d'affiche* is "Angry," but not only did I not feel all that much anger from the post, I got the most lucid explanation I've ever heard...I'll never again forget how to pronounce this name!!

WELL DONE I.H.E.

*Post name? No clue what the digital analog of "non-de-plume" might be. (Digital analog!)
