That doesn't mean you can riddle a film with fat jokes. You get one--maybe two--and then you cool it and stop padding out your movie into a gelatinous mass of excess flab. (Thanks for the drinking game inspiration, though.)
Yes, the short and/or slow jokes about Gimli were perhaps too frequent, but at least there were also things happening in those movies!
